Box Score 2 April 12, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - The third-ranked Tigers improved to 31-1 overall and 6-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference following a doubleheader sweep of visiting Millsaps. DePauw also extended its win streak to 31 straight games. Millsaps dropped to 16-9 overall and 4-2 in the SCAC.
Megan Soultz pitched a perfect game through 5 1/3 innings of the first game and allowed just hits in earning her 12th shutout of the season and improving to 26-1 on the season. Kasey Thibodeaux dropped to 7-3 with the loss.
Chelsy Patterson drove in the game's first run with a single in the second, while Carolyn Bartlett brought home a pair in the third with a double. Kaitlyn Davitt's RBI single in the fourth made it 4-0 before Rachel Gill scored the game's final run in the sixth as part of a double steal from third.
Gill and Bartlett each had two of DePauw's 10 hits, while Karoline Kremers and Morgan Ladner had one each for the Majors.
In the nightcap, the Tigers scored all five runs in the third as Davitt and Gill each delivered bases loaded singles before Brianne Weeks scored on a wild pitch. Ashlee Anton wrapped up the scoring with a two-run double.
Millsaps scored two in the fifth on RBI singles by Sam Hill and Jennifer McKinley and then added one in the seventh on Hill's double to left center.
Soultz improved to 27-1 with the win, while Laura Litton dropped to 6-2.
The teams square off in a noon doubleheader on Sunday.
