February 8, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw never trailed and led by as many as 36 midway through the second half on the way to an 87-56 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over visiting Rhodes.
DePauw improved to 17-4 overall and 9-2 in the SCAC with its seventh straight win, while the Lynx dropped to 8-13 overall and 3-8 in the conference.
The Tigers held a 33-26 lead late in the first half before Steve Lemasters hit a three-pointer, Stephen Schott followed with two buckets and Mike Moore added a field goal to cap a 9-0 run and push the lead to 42-26 with 1:41 left in the half. A 10-0 DePauw run early in the second half extended the lead to 26 as the Tigers put the game away.
Moore led the Tigers with 23 points, seven assists and three steals, while Schott added 19 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Ryan Werntz added 12 on four three-pointers.
Cory Smith led Rhodes with 17 with Reid Hamilton following with 13. Joe Thompson grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
DePauw shot 50 percent for the game and held Rhodes to 36.7 percent and the Tigers held a 44-31 edge on the boards.
The Tigers host Birmingham-Southern on Sunday at 3 p.m., while Rhodes travels to Centre.
