February 24, 2008, Demorest, Ga. - Eighth-ranked DePauw improved to 2-1 following an 8-0 win at Piedmont. Piedmont dropped to 0-1 with the loss.

Megan Soultz allowed just three hits and struck out eight on the way to her second win in three decisions. DePauw scored one run each in the third, fourth and fifth innings and then added two in the sixth and three in the seventh.

The Tigers collected 10 hits with three each from Chelsy Patterson and Rachel Gill and two by Kelly Schwerzler. Gill drove in three and Patterson followed with two.

DePauw travels to Danville, Kentucky, this weekend where they play four games in two days beginning with Saturday contests against Case Western Reserve and Maryville (Mo.).
