Ninth-Ranked Tigers Win Fourth Straight SCAC Title; Alexander Named Swimmer of the Year Again

February 16, 2008, Dallas, Texas - The ninth-ranked Tigers totaled 877.5 points and won their fourth straight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Championship and fifth in the last six years. Trinity was second with 783 points and Centre was third with 741.

For the second consecutive year, Rob Alexander earned SCAC Swimmer of the Year honors. In Saturday's finals, Alexander won the 100-yard freestyle in 45.91 seconds marking his third first-place finish of the meet.

Charlie Boehme won the 200 backstroke in 1:56.82, while John Cook also earned all-SCAC honors by finishing second in the 100 free in 46.29.

The 400 free relay of Alexander, Greg Nowak, Josh Baugh and Cook won in 3:05.74.
