November 8, 2008, Memphis, Tenn. - Fourth-seed DePauw battled back from a 2-1 deficit and knocked off top-seed and 13th-ranked Southwestern, 3-2, in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference semifinal round.

DePauw took the early lead after winning the first set 25-23, but the Pirates took a 2-1 advantage after winning the next two by identical scores of 25-19. The Tigers took the fourth set, 25-13, and wrapped up the match with a 15-10 win in the final set.
Adrienne Cobb paced DePauw with 16 kills and eight blocks, while Ali Smith led with 49 assists. Emily Smith added 27 digs and Kylee Lehrman had two aces.
