Tigers Fall at Sewanee; Head to SCAC Championship as Top Seed

November 2, 2008, Sewanee, Tenn. - Following a scoreless first half, host Sewanee took a 2-0 lead and held on for a 2-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over DePauw.

The Tigers dropped to 13-3 on the season and finished SCAC play at 6-2, while Sewanee improved to 11-6 overall and 4-4 in the conference. The loss snapped DePauw's eight-game win streak.

Sewanee's Lynn Hancock scored seven minutes into the second half before Julie Wilson made it 2-0. Sarah Riffle scored DePauw's lone goal with three minutes remaining.

DePauw outshot Sewanee, 13-8. Liz Attewell totaled four saves for DePauw, while Clarkie Crawford had 12 for Sewanee.

The Tigers earned the number one seed in the SCAC Chmapionship and will play the winner of Friday's Sewanee-Hendrix game. DePauw's semifinal game takes place Saturday, November 8, at Centre.
