April 27, 2007, San Antonio, Texas - DePauw opened Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament play with a 6-2 win over Centre and advanced to face Trinity on Saturday at 2 p.m. CDT.

The Tigers improved to a school-record 32 wins against just three losses, while the Colonels dropped to 20-19.

Centre scored two in the top of the first, but DePauw responded with four in the bottom half of the frame. Laura Schlensker added an RBI double in the third to make it 5-2, while Rachel Gill closed out the scoring with a run-scoring single in the sixth.

Megan Soultz improved to 14-2 on the season after allowing just two hits with eight strikeouts and no walks, while Tyler Travis dropped to 6-4.

DePauw totaled 10 hits led by Chelsy Patterson's three and two each from Schlensker and Gill. Schlensker and Gill each drove in a pair as Gill broke the SCAC single-season mark of 48 with her run-scoring single in the first.
