Box Score 2 April 21, 2007, Sewanee, Tenn. - DePauw blanked Sewanee in both ends of its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader and earned the top seed in the SCAC East for next weekend's conference tournament in San Antonio. DePauw won the first game by a 4-0 count and took the nightcap, 14-0. The Tigers improved to 29-3 overall and 9-1 in the SCAC, while Sewanee dropped to 6-18 overall and 0-10 in the conference.
Megan Soultz pitched a two-hitter in the first game with 11 strikeouts and no walks in improving to 13-2. The Tigers scored two in the first on Rachel Gill's two-run homer and added another pair in the seventh. Kristy Mahon and Laura Schlensker each had two of DePauw's eight hits.
In the nightcap, Lauren Curosh improved to 11-0 after pitching a three-hitter with three walks and one strikeout in the five-inning game. DePauw scored four in the first, two in the second, three in the fourth and five in the fifth.
Jessica Krueger paced DePauw with three of their 12 hits, while Chelsy Patterson, Kaitlyn Davitt and Lauren Rees each added two. Davitt led DePauw with five RBI. Morgan Cannon dropped to 6-18 for Sewanee after dropping both ends of the twinbill.
The two teams battle on Sunday in a noon doubleheader.
