March 11, 2007, Franklin, Ind. - DePauw opened the season with a doubleheader sweep at Franklin by scores of 6-2 and 11-0.

In the opener, the Tigers fell behind 2-0 in the first, but rallied with four in the third and two in the fifth. DePauw totaled 11 hits in the game with Lauren Rees, Rachel Gill, Kaitlyn Davitt and Carolyn Bartlett each collecting two. Franklin finished with five hits as five different players had one each. Lauren Curosh improved to 1-0 with the win, while Turner dropped to 0-1.

In the nightcap, DePauw scored one in the second before adding 10 in the sixth for the win. The Tigers finished with 14 hits led by Jessica Krueger, Gill, Davitt, Laura Schlensker, Kelly Scherzler with two each. Schwerzler drove in four including three with a triple. Megan Soultz improved to 1-0 with a three-hit shutout including nine strikeouts. Smith suffered the loss for the Grizzlies.

DePauw hosts St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Wednesday, March 14, at 3 p.m.
