COMPLETE MEET RESULTS
February 8, 2007, Crawfordsville, Ind. - At the conclusion of the first full day of the 2007 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Trinity University has jumped out to the early lead with 242.5 points. DePauw is second with 182.5, while Centre is third with 159.
Sewanee is in fourth with 128 points followed by Rhodes (105), Colorado College (71), Southwestern (70), Austin (51) and Hendrix (42).
On Wednesday, Trinity's Lauren Walstad defended her 2005 one-meter diving title and broke the 2000 SCAC Championship record set by Caitlin McEatheron with a score of 437.65 points.
Trinity's Lindsay Weigley repeated as the 500 free champion in 5:13.35, while DePauw's Katie Doogan won the 200 individual medley in a school and SCAC record time of 2:08.02. The time also was an NCAA provisional time.
Meredith Angel of Centre won the 50 free in 24.17 seconds which was a provisional time as was Maddison Hamil's second-place showing in 24.37. Hamil's prelim time of 24.14 broke a 22-year old school record set by Nancy Gritter.
DePauw's Lindsay Riggs, Hamil, Amanda Stier and Doogan closed the evening by winning the 400 medley relay in 4:00.91. The start of the 200-yard freestyle relay was disputed and the event will take place again on Saturday evening.
