Tigers cap roadtrip with win at Oglethorpe

January 7, 2007, Atlanta, Ga. - Four Tigers scored in double figures as DePauw improved to 10-3 overall and 2-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference following a 76-70 win at Oglethorpe. The Stormy Petrels dropped to 6-5 overall and 0-3 in the SCAC with the loss.

Oglethorpe jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the opening two minutes, but DePauw came back to take an 11-point lead before going to the break with a 42-35 advantage.

The Stormy Petrels used an 8-0 run midway through the half to knot the score at 49-49 with 12:04 remaining, but DePauw scored eight straight on a Ryan Werntz drive, a Stephen Schott three-point play and Mike Moore's three-pointer to take the lead for good at 57-49. Oglethorpe closed to within five on a couple of occasions in the final minute, but Reid Sakel's free throw with 6.6 seconds remaining put the game away.

Schott led DePauw with his second double-double of the weekend with 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Moore added 15 followed by Austin Brown with 14 and Sakel with 13.

Alex Watterson paced Oglethorpe with 16 followed by Andrew Tulowitzsky and Ahmad Kareem Shaheed with 14 each.

DePauw shot 44.3 percent from the floor to Oglethorpe's 42.3 percent and held a 41-31 advantage on the boards.
