Tigers lead all the way in win over Trinity

January 19, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw jumped out to a 14-2 lead in the first 6:20 and never trailed on the way to a 66-51 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Trinity. The Tigers improved to 14-3 overall and 5-1 in the SCAC, while Trinity dropped to 8-8 overall and 3-3 in the conference.

Trinity closed that early DePauw lead to two at 19-17 after A.J. Siebert's layup with 6:20 left in the first half capped a 6-0 run. DePauw extended the margin to 27-19 with an 8-2 run that ended with Tony James' three-pointer with 3:51 remaining in the half. The Tigers took a 36-24 lead into the break.

The visiting Tigers closed to within nine on a couple of occasions in the second half, but DePauw scored nine straight on layups from Brian Oilar and Mike Moore, a three-pointer from Oilar and dunk by Stephen Schott to make it 52-34 with 12:06 left.

Reid Sakel led the Tigers with 13 and hit three three-pointers, while Schott and Matt McDonald each grabbed nine rebounds. B.J. Moon led Trinity with 10 points and Casey Hill grabbed five rebounds.

DePauw hosts Southwestern on Saturday at 8 p.m., while Trinity is at Centre.
