Box Score 2 April 9, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw improved to 18-7 overall and 4-0 with the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference after sweeping Rose-Hulman by scores of 14-6 and 8-0. The Engineers dropped to 7-21 overall and 0-8 in the conference.
The Tigers fell behind twice in the first two innings and trailed 6-3 in the third before scoring 11 runs in the final three innings of the first game.
DePauw pounded out 16 hits with Ashley Sewell and Carolyn Bartlett each collecting three. Jessica Krueger, Rachel Gill, Jessica Bowlds and Chelsy Patterson each collected two in the win. Sewell drove in five runs with two triples and a double, while Bartlett drove in four. Ashley Montgomery and Margaret Kelly each collected two of the Engineers' eight hits.
Lauren Curosh improved to 11-6 by allowing just two earned runs in five inninngs, while Amy Viles dropped to 0-5 with the loss.
In the second game, Curosh improved to 12-6 by tossing a one-hit shutout with five strikeouts and no walks in five innings. Kristy Mahon and Gill each had two of DePauw's eight hits, while Barlett drove in three with a three-run first inning homer. Nicole Sanders dropped to 0-4 with the loss.
The Tigers host Sewanee in SCAC doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.
