Tigers earn all-America honors after first day at NCAA Championships

d3swim.jpg March 9, 2006, Minneapolis, Minn. - The DePauw women's swimming and diving team is tied for 22nd place after the first day of competition at the NCAA Division III Championships in Minneapolis.

 

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Katie Doogan, Amanda Stier, Megan Davenport and Maddison Hamil finished earned honorable mention all-America after finishing 10th in 1:37.64.

 

DePauw's 400 medley relay of Doogan, Hamil, Stier and Davenport also earned honorable mention all-America status by placing 16th in 4:04.06.

 

Individually, Hamil just missed qualifying for the consolation finals of the 50 free and finished 17th in 24.55 seconds. Doogan finished 29th in the 200 individual medley in 2:11.13.

 

On Friday, the Tigers compete in the 200 medley relay, while Doogan is in the 100 backstroke.
