November 5, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - John Cross and Jeremy Rielley each scored hat tricks and Nick Noel finished with a goal and three assists in his final collegiate game as DePauw rolled to an 8-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over visiting Austin. The Tigers finished the season with an 11-7 overall record and a 6-3 SCAC mark, while the Kangaroos dropped to 9-9 overall and 5-4 in the conference.
Cross scored the Tigers' first two goals on assists from Nick and Scott Noel, respectively, before Rielley scored in the final minute of the first half on Nick Noel's assist.
Rielley made it 4-0 at 56:04 before the Kangaroos scored their only goal of the contest just 37 seconds later on John Martinez's unassisted score. Cross banged in his third goal at 57:52 on Nick Noel's assist before Rielley scored his third on a direct kick at 60:22. Nick Noel made it 7-1 at 68:37 and the Tigers scored an own goal in the final two minutes.
DePauw outshot Austin 24-9, while Austin held a 5-2 edge in corners. John Fenley totaled seven saves for the Tigers, while Guy Muller had seven for the Kangaroos and Matt Dickinson had two.
