Blake Porter gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead just 11:19 into the contest on an assist from Craig Lippincott. The Hornets tied the score on Nick Houdek's unassisted goal at 33:53.
DePauw outshot Kalamazoo 20-14 and held an 8-6 advantage in corners. John Fenley recorded four saves for the Tigers, while Stefano Crescentini had seven for the Hornets.
DePauw travels to Earlham next Saturday.
