September 2, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - The Tigers made two first-half goals stand up on the way to a 3-1 win over visiting Hope College in the season opener for both teams.
Blake Porter scored at the 20:30 mark on an assist from Craig Lippincott before Nick Noel made it 2-0 at 33:39 with an another assist from Lippincott.
Hope cut the margin to 2-1 at 66:34 and Geoff Meyer scored off of Jordan Goorhouse's corner, but Noel sealed it with his second goal with just eight seconds remaining on Lippincott's third assist.
DePauw outshot Hope 21-10 and held a 4-3 advantage in corners. John Fenley recorded four second-half saves for the Tigers, while Kevin Butterfield totaled three saves in the contest.
The Tigers host Kalamazoo at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
