September 10, 2005, Richmond, Ind. - The Tigers built a 4-0 first-half advantage and withstood three straight Earlham goals on the way to a 5-3 win at Earlham. The win lifts the Tigers' record to 2-0-1 headed into Sunday's game at Wittenberg.
Blake Porter scored twice in the opening eight minutes with the first goal assisted by Criag Lippincott and the second coming on a double assist by Lippincott and John Cross. Lippincott made it 3-0 at 19:55 on an assist from Nick Noel before Noel capped the first-half scoring at 30:03 with an unassisted goal.
Earlham's Leland Gyr scored in the final minute of the first half before Victor Anciano closed the gap to 4-3 with a pair of second-half scores. Lippincott's penalty kick at 87:28 concluded the scoring.
Lippincott finished with two goals and two assists with Porter adding two scores, while Noel totaled a goal and an assist.
DePauw outshot Earlham 16-13 and held an 11-2 advantage in corners. John Fenley recorded six saves for the Tigers, while Earlham's Jon O'Neil totaled six.
