Box Score 2 April 9, 2005, Sewanee, Tenn. - DePauw won the first game of its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at Sewanee by a 2-1 score, but dropped the nightcap 2-0. DePauw is now 17-10-1 overall and 2-4 in the SCAC, while Sewanee is 13-13 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
Jessica Krueger's two-run, two out homer in the third provided DePauw with just enough offense. Sewanee scored its lone run in the sixth when Kristen White singled home Carla Shepherd.
The Tigers had just five hits with Krueger totaling two. Sewanee finished with four hits as Shepherd picked up a pair. Lauren Curosh improved to 10-5 with the win, while Shepherd dropped to 4-8 despite striking out 17 DePauw batters.
In the nightcap, Sewanee scored one in the first on a DePauw throwing error and added the other run in the third on Eliza Herrera's groundout that scored White. DePauw finished with six hits with Carli Worthman collecting a pair. Sewanee totaled eight hits led by Shepherd and Garrett Marquardt with two each. Shepherd improved to 5-8, while Hillary Enyart dropped to 5-4.
DePauw and Sewanee face each other on Sunday in a noon doubleheader.
