Box Score 2 March 6, 2005, Lexington, Ky. - The Tigers split their doubleheader at Transylvania with a 7-3 win in the first game before losing the nightcap, 6-4. DePauw is now 2-2 on the season, while the Pioneers are also 2-2.
Nicole Kernan and Carli Worthman each collected two of DePauw's 10 hits in the first game win. Lauren Cursoh improved to 2-0 on the season by pitching seven innings and allowing just two earned runs with four strikeouts and no walks. Transylvania led 2-0 after two innings before the Tigers scored three in the third and two in the fifth.
In the nightcap, The Tigers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first before the Pioneers scored two in the second and one in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead. DePauw regained the lead with three in the sixth, but Transylvania scored three in the bottom half of the inning for the win.
Caroline Provan led the Tigers with three hits and two RBI, while Jessica Krueger added two. Hillary Enyart suffered the loss in relief.
The Tigers host Hanover on Sunday in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
