Box Score 2 March 30, 2005, Indianapolis, Ind. - The Tigers scored two in the top of the ninth and held on to defeat the University of Indianapolis, 3-1, in the nightcap of the doubleheader. The Division II Greyhounds won the first game by an 8-0 count. DePauw is 11-6-1, while Indianapolis is now 10-4.
Ashley Sewell's single up the middle in the ninth inning of the second game scored Nicole Kernan and Laura Schlensker followed with an RBI single to give the Tigers the extra-inning win. DePauw scored in the first on Caroline Provan's single that scored Jessica Kreuger.
The Greyhounds knotted the score at 1-1 in the seventh when pinch-hitter Erin Schenck drew a bases loaded walk which scored Chelsie Stacy.
Kristy Mahon and Provan each had two of DePauw's six hits. Indianapolis collected just five off of DePauw starter Hillary Enyart who improved to 4-2 with the win. Megan Hall dropped to 2-2 with the loss.
In the opening game, the Greyhounds scored six in the second as Mandi Haberlin drove in one with a single and Ashley Vachon followed with a two-run double. Jessica Conant followed with a singled before a Tiger error allowed Vachon to score. Lindsey Mishevich's double scored Conant and Hall.
Danielle Melone's bases loaded double in the fourth scored a pair and the Greyhounds shut down the Tigers in the fifth to capture the win.
Beth Windlinger improved to 8-1, while Lauren Curosh dropped to 6-3. DePauw finished with just two singles and Indianapolis finished with 14 hits. Vachon, Conant, Mishevich, Melone, Wendlinger and Haberlin each had two for the Greyhounds.
DePauw hosts Anderson in a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Thursday.
