Men's Swimming and Diving

Men lead SCAC Championships after first of three days of competition

February 17, 2005, San Antonio, Texas - The DePauw men's swimming and diving team is in first place after the first of three days of competition at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.

DePauw leads with 254 points followed by Trinity with 245, Sewanee with 212 and Rose-Hulman with 181. Centre is in fifth with 126 followed by Hendrix with 84, Rhodes with 78 and Southwestern with 49.

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Evan Kennel, Mike Mioduski, Kiel Beehler and Robert Alexander finished second in 1:27.14. Kennel then made an NCAA provisional cut in the 200 individual medley by winning in 1:55.08.

Alexander won the 50 freestyle in 21.32 seconds with Mioduski also earning all-conference honors with a third-place showing in 21.64 seconds.

The 400 medley relay of Kennel, Michael Young, Alexander and Mioduski placed second in 3:31.60.
