GREENCASTLE, Ind. - Kim Schreiner's goal with just 21 seconds left in the second overtime lifted 19th-ranked DePauw to a 2-1 victory over 22nd-ranked Macalester. The Tigers improved to 9-3-2, while the Scots dropped to 14-3-1.
Schreiner was one-on-one with Macalester keeper Louisa Bigelow and chipped a shot over her head from several yards in front of the box to give the Tigers the win.
Alice Hacker put Macalester on the board first with a goal at 25:28 before Kate Nickols tied the game at 72:12 with an assist from Schreiner.
Macalester outshot DePauw 16-15 and held an 8-7 advantage in corners. Bigelow had nine saves for the Scots, while Abby Currens totaled six for the Tigers.
The Tigers return to action on Thursday, November 4, at Chicago. The teams last met in the 2003 national semifinals with the Maroons winning in two overtimes.
