SEWANEE, Tenn. - DePauw clinched at least a share of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship following a 2-1 win at Sewanee. The Tigers improved to 10-5 overall and 5-0 in the SCAC, while Sewanee dropped to 6-8 overall and 1-4 in the conference.
DePauw jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Allison Baccich's goals with an assist from Becca Gaines with 4:56 left in the first half. Sewanee's Virginia Adair tied the game with 17:01 left in the game with an assist from Brita Shaw. Gaines provided the game-winner with 8:14 remaining.
The Tigers outshot Sewanee 11-9 and held a 14-11 advantage in corners. Sara Shalowitz recorded five saves for DePauw, while Blake Rosen had seven for Sewanee.
DePauw is at Rhodes on Sunday.
