Tigers improve to 6-4 with win over Illinois Wesleyan

Greencastle, Ind. - The Tigers won six events and second in seven others to earn a 126-96 win over visiting Illinois Wesleyan at the Erdmann Natatorium. DePauw improved to 6-4 on the season with its fourth straight victory.

 

Evan Kennel was a double-winner for the Tigers with firsts in the 100 freestyle (50.02 seconds) and the 200 breaststroke (2:19.13). Wilson Vilafana won on both the one and three-meter boards with 195.82 and 190.95 points, respectively. Zach Marquand finished first in the 200 free in 1:52.99, while Andrew Cornett won the 200 individual medley in 2:04.42. DePauw's 400 free relay of Michael Young, Ian Prunty, Kiel Beehler and Cornett won in 3:28.40.

 

The Tigers return to action at the Washington (Mo.) Invitational on January 23-24.
