DePauw and Wabash battled through 79 minutes of scoreless soccer before the Tigers broke through with two goals in a 29-second span and came away with a 2-1 win over the Little Giants at Boswell Field.
Craig Lippincott scored unassisted at 79:13 to break the deadlock before Danny Antle delivered the eventual game-winner at 79:42 with an assist from Graham Lukens.
Wabash got on the board at 86:17 as Jeff Diebel scored on an assist from Sean McMulty.
"Wabash came with a good game plan and executed it well," DePauw head coach Page Cotton said. "I told our team that they have to find a way to win and they did."
DePauw outshot Wabash 28-13 and held a 5-3 edge in corners. Will McAdams recorded 13 saves in goal for Wabash, while Wes Molyneaux totled four for DePauw.
DePauw improved to 5-1 with the victory and Wabash dropped to 3-4. The Tigers host the University of Chicago on Saturday, September 20, at 3 p.m.
