Visiting Earlham defeated DePauw 68-61 and Rose-Hulman topped Wabash 79-64 in the first of two evenings of the Mike Rokicki Community Versus Cancer Challenge. Sunday's games pit Earlham (2-2) and Rose-Hulman (2-1)Â at 2 p.m. and DePauw (1-2)Â and Wabash (1-3)Â at 4 p.m.

LaRon Henry paced three Earlham double-digits scorers with 18 points, while Markous Jewett added 16 and Jermaine Crumby scored 13. Brandon Miller hauled down a game-high 13 rebounds for the Hustlin' Quakers. Jon Owens led DePauw with 20, while Derek Lawrence added 16.

Earlham led by as many as nine in the first half on the way to a 32-29 halftime advantage. DePauw led briefly in the second half, but the Hustlin' Quakers went on a 9-2 run to take a 61-53 lead with 2:47 remaining. The Tigers got as close as four at 65-61 on Lawrence's jumper with 40 seconds left before Earlham scored the game's final three points from the charity stripe.

DePauw connected on just 40 percent of its field goal tries including 36 percent in the second half and only six-of-24 from three-point range for the game. Earlham outscored the Tigers 16-5 from the free throw line.

Munchie Muskeyvalley led Rose-Hulman with 18, while Jason Ludwig added 14 and Brian Bibb 10 in the Engineers' win over Wabash. Kyle Coffey led the Little Giants with 12 points.

Rose-Hulman jumped out to a 19-7 lead in the opening 8:15 and extended it to as many as 23 points on the way to a 46-27 halftime advantage. The Little Giants got as close as 17 in the second half before the Engineers pushed the margin to as many as 30 on two occasions. The Little Giants closed the game with a 15-2 run over the final 4:43.
