DePauw drops 2-1 decision to Southwestern

The Tigers trailed 2-0 at the half, but battled back to within a goal in the final 12 minutes, but visiting Southwestern survived a late DePauw charge and gained a 2-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win. DePauw dropped to 10-6-1 overall and 4-4 in the SCAC, while Southwestern improved to 13-5 overall and 7-1 in the conference.

 

Kevin Donovan scored at 10:36 on an assist by Lauro Davalos and the Pirates made it 2-0 at 35:38 on a score by Pat Watkins and assisted again by Davalos.

 

Danny Antle put DePauw on the board at 78:17 on a rebound off of T.J. Powers' shot. The Tigers had several opportunities in the closing minutes, but Southwestern prevailed.

 

DePauw outshot the Pirates 19-10 and each team had four corners. Steven Harben recorded nine saves for Southwestern, while Wes Molyneux had three for DePauw.

 

The Tigers conclude the season on Saturday, November 8, when the host Rose-Hulman at 2 p.m.
