15th-ranked Tigers knock off top-ranked Trinity

DePauw, ranked 15th in Division III placed itself in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference driver's seat with a 2-1 win over number-one ranked Trinity at Boswell Field.

The Tigers lead the SCAC with a 7-0 mark after snapping Trinity's 41-game conference win streak. DePauw was the last team to defeat Trinity on September 24, 1999. With a win in one of the final two games, DePauw will earn the SCAC's automatic qualification into the NCAA Division III tournament. DePauw improved to 11-4 overall with its fourth straight win, while Trinity dropped to 14-1-1 overall and 6-1 in the SCAC.

The game-winner was scored with just 2:46 remaining as the ball deflected off a Trinity player and into the DePauw goal. Coincidentally, Trinity's lone goal was also an own goal at the 10:11 mark. That came after DePauw jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Crissy Harter's goal with an assist from Kate Nickols at 7:41.

DePauw outshot Trinity 19-6 and each team had three corners. DePauw's Ali Glibkowski recorded five saves in goal, while Stephanie Bull totaled two for Trinity.

The Tigers host Southwestern at 11 a.m. on Sunday, while Trinity travels to Rose-Hulman.
