DePauw and top-ranked Trinity battled through a scoreless half before the visiting Tigers knocked in two goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half in a 2-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over DePauw.
Rusty Harrington scored at 51:32 on an assist from Zach Ettner on a ball that took a bad hop and bounced over DePauw keeper Wes Molyneaux. The second goal was a no-doubter with Josh Smith firing it in from the left side and it bearly glanced off the back post. Josh Peterson was credited with the assist.
Trinity outshot DePauw 17-5 and held a 9-6 advantage in corners.
DePauw dropped to 10-5-1 overall and 4-3 in the SCAC, while Trinity improved to 17-0 overall and 7-0 in conference play. DePauw hosts Southwestern on Sunday at 1 p.m. and Trinity travels to Rose-Hulman.
