The 13th-ranked Tigers had little trouble with visiting Principia as they defeated the Panthers, 5-1. DePauw improved to 8-4 with the win, while Principia dropped to 9-4 with the loss.
DePauw needed just under two minutes to get on the scoreboard as Kate Nickols scored on an assist by Meredith Rinaker at 1:56. Rinaker scored at 15:21 on an assist from Crissy Harter before Karen Babbs closed out the first-half scoring with on an assist from Mary Beth Robinson at 26:50 to make it 3-0 at the half.
Rinaker scored her second goal of the game just 5:49 into the second half on Nickols' assist, whole Corinne Scott pushed the lead to 5-0 with a score at 75:20 on an assist from Erin McMillin. Principia's lone score came at 75:35 on Lindsay Ellis' unassisted goal.
Ali Glibkowski recorded one save in 61 minutes in goal for DePauw and Nancy-Jeanne Bachman totaled two in just under 67 minutes for Principia. The Tigers outshot the Panthers 19-4 and held a 5-2 edge in corners.
DePauw returns to action on Friday, October 24 at Oglethorpe.
