Memphis, Tenn. - The Tigers nailed their first eight field goal tries including four three-pointers to jump out to a 20-8 lead in the opening four minutes on the way to a 97-68 win in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener at Rhodes.
DePauw evened its record at 5-5 overall, while Rhodes fell to 6-5.
Joe Ringger equaled a career high with 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Tigers, while Joey Hanger and Matt Kleymeyer each added 14. Alex Stewart rounded out the Tigers' double-digit scorers with 12.
DePauw led by as many as 19 in the first half at 31-12 after Wes Thornhill's three-pointer with 11:58 left in the half. They still held a 48-34 advantage at the break after connecting on 61 percent from the floor including nine of 13 from three-point range.
Rhodes closed the gap to 12 early in the second half on a couple of occasions before going on a 15-2 run to push the margin to 65-40 with 13:06 left in the game.
Bryan Baird paced Rhodes with 15 points followed by J.L. Hurt with 13.
The Tigers shot 64 percent from the floor for the game and 68 percent in the second half. They also connected on 13 of 19 three-point shots and outrebounded the Lynx 46-21.
