Tigers roll to 77-51 win over Trinity

Greencastle, Ind. - A 13-2 run late in the first half propelled DePauw to a 77-51 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over visiting Trinity.

The victory, DePauw's sixth straight, lifted their overall record to 9-5 and their SCAC mark to 4-0. Trinity fell to 10-5 overall and 3-1 in the SCAC.

Joe Ringger posted his fifth straight double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead DePauw to its 10th straight conference win dating back to last year and their 14th straight SCAC home win going back to the 1999-2000 season.

DePauw led 24-19 with just over four minutes left in the first half before pushing the margin 37-21 in the closing minute of the half. Joey Hanger and Wes Thornhill buried three-pointers during the stretch, while Ringger added five points and Alex Stewart two.

Trinity closed the gap to 10 at 37-27 in the first two minutes of the second half, but DePauw outscored the guests 16-4 over a four-minute stretch to push the lead to 22. Jon Owens scored the first five of the run and Hanger knocked down a pair of treys. Trinity got no closer than 20 the rest of the way.

Hanger and Owens each added 12 in the win, while Jeremy Bettis scored 11. Todd Humerickhouse equaled a career high with 11 rebounds including six on the offensive glass. DePauw outrebounded Trinity 44-33 and grabbed 16 offensive boards.

Adam Luton paced Trinity with 12 followed by Sean Devins with 10. Devins blocked four shots and Luton swatted away three.

Ringger moved up to 10th on DePauw's all-time scoring list and seventh in rebounding.

DePauw hosts Southwestern at Noon on Sunday.
