Greencastle, Ind. - The Tigers jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the first four minutes of the contest on the way to an 83-50 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over visiting Rose-Hulman.
DePauw improved to 8-5 overall and 3-0 in the SCAC with its fifth straight win, while the Engineers fell to 4-10 overall and 1-2 in the SCAC.
Joe Ringger posted his fourth straight double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in just 19 minutes and Jeremy Bettis also recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Three other Tigers reached double figures as Wes Thornhill scored 13 points followed by Alex Stewart with 11 and Jon Owens with 10.
Rose-Hulman closed the early gap to seven at 20-13 after Brennan Dunville's jumper with 10:24 left in the half, but the Tigers scored the next eight and went to the break with a 41-27 lead.
The Tigers then opened the second half with a 21-4 run over the first 7:19 to push the margin to 62-31. Ringger and Owens each scored six during the stretch.
Phillip Griffith was the lone Engineer to score in double figures with 10 points. Ringger added four assists and three blocks to his totals, while Bettis blocked a pair of shots and Thornhill also dished out four assists.
The Tigers host Trinity University on Friday, January 17 at 8 p.m. in a battle of two of the three unbeaten teams in SCAC play.
