GREENCASTLE, Ind. - DePauw scored four runs in the third and three in the fourth in the second game of a home doubleheader with Hanover to take a 7-2 win and salvage a split of the twinbill. Hanover took the first game by a 1-0 score in eight innings.

In game one, DePauw's Darcy Vannatta and Hanover's Ruth Hudgens pitched their respective teams to a scoreless tie through seven innings as each allowed just five hits. Kristyn Tekulve's two-out triple in the DePauw first marked the only base runner by either team to even reach third through the first seven innings.

In the top of the eighth, Terri Warren started the inning on second and, with one out, advanced to third on a wild pitch. She scored when Mandi Meyer reached base after hitting a grounder back to Vannatta whose throw was off the mark.

The Tigers, though, had a chance in the bottom of the eighth as they started with Mychelle Coon on second. She advanced to third on Jamie Anderson's sacrifice bunt. Tekulve then hit a grounder to short that Megan Fontaine fielded and threw to the plate, nailing Coon.

In the loss, Tekulve collected three of the Tigers' five hits and Vannatta extended her streak of consecutive innings without allowing an earned run to 17.

In the nightcap, Hanover jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first as Fontaine's single plated Mayer. DePauw rallied with four in the bottom of the third as Kristen Stephan led off with a double to left and moved to third on Chanda Najdek's single. 

Najdek stole second before Coon laid down a bunt single to score Stephan. Coon then stole second and came all the way around to score when the catcher's throw went into right center, Najdek also scored on the play to give DePauw a 3-1 lead. Kylie Moord singled and scored on Tekulve's second triple of the day to round out the scoring in the inning.

Moord doubled home two in the fourth and scored after a Hanover throwing error. The Panthers added a single run in the sixth as they started the inning with three straight singles. Haley Kline then hit a ball back to Coon who threw out Janet Harvey at the plate, but catcher Keri Shake's throw to first to complete the double play hit Kline and allowed Fontaine to score. 

Coon and Moord each had two hits, while Coon allowed just two unearned runs and six hits in seven innings to notch her sixth win against just two losses. Fontaine and Lindsey Page each had two hits for Hanover.

The Tigers are now 16-9-1, while Hanover is 9-8. The Tigers travel to Millikin on Sunday for a 2 p.m. contest.
