DePauw wins game two for split with Anderson

In a final tune-up for the SCAC Championship, the Tigers split a doubleheader with visiting Anderson with a 5-1 loss in the first game and a 6-1 win in the nightcap. Darcy Vannatta had her 21 2/3 scoreless innings streak snapped in the opener as Anderson scored two in the first, one in the second and two more in the third. Keri Shake and Lauren Partaker each had two hits for the Tigers. Mychelle Coon notched her ninth win of the season in the second game as she allowed just one unearned run. Vannatta earns SCAC Pitcher of the Week for second consecutive time

Junior pitcher Darcy Vannatta won her only start of the week, a 6-0 shutout of Franklin and allowed just two hits in seven innings, while striking out one and walking two in extending her scoreless innings streak to 21 1/3 innings. For the season, Vannatta is third in the league in ERA (1.91) and second in wins (13).

Tigers blank Franklin in doubleheader sweep

DePauw improved to 22-11-1 with a pair of 6-0 wins over visiting Franklin Darcy Vannatta hurled a two-hit shutout in the first game and extended her scoreless innings streak to 21 1/3. Andrea Clark went three-for-three and drove in a pair with an inside-the-park home run, while Mychelle Coon and Jamie Anderson each had two hits. Coon also drove in two. Coon allowed just four hits in holding the Grizzlies scoreless in the nightcap. She helped herself at the plate with a pair of hits and Kylie Moord also added two. Game story with photos and stats. 

DePauw sweeps SCAC Player of the Week honors

Third baseman Lauri Kinkel and pitcher Darcy Vannatta have been chosen SCAC Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. Kinkel had five hits in nine at-bats (.556) and scored four runs and drove in four more as DePauw went 4-0 on the week to take a share of the SCAC Eastern Division crown. Her two-run home run against Rose-Hulman in the second game of the doubleheader with the Engineers on Tuesday was the difference as

DePauw completed the crucial sweep with a 4-2 victory. 

Vannatta went 3-0 on the week, defeating Rose-Hulman and Centre College twice, to propel DePauw into a first-place tie in the SCAC Eastern Division standings. She totaled 19 innings in the three games, allowing eight hits and just one earned run (0.37 ERA) while striking out 13 batters. In Saturday's 8-0 win in game one against Centre, she pitched the second no-hitter of her career and the fourth in program history.

Tigers seeded second in SCAC East after coin toss

DePauw will be the number two seed from the SCAC East Division in the upcoming conference championship hosted by DePauw. Rose-Hulman won the coin toss administered by the SCAC office and is the number one seed. DePauw, which has earned the East's top seed each of the first two seasons of the tournament, faces Trinity University at noon on Friday, April 27. Rose-Hulman takes on Rhodes College in the 2:30 p.m. game.

Vannatta hurls no-hitter and pitches two shutouts in sweep at Centre; Tigers tie for SCAC East title

Pitcher Darcy Vannatta pitched a pair of complete game shutouts over Centre College including a five-inning no-hitter in the first game of the doubleheader as DePauw won by scores of 8-0 and 5-0. The no-hitter was the fourth in school history and the second by Vannatta. The Tigers finished SCAC play tied with Rose-Hulman for the top spot in the division. Tigers sweep twinbill at Rose-Hulman; take half-game lead in SCAC East

DePauw drops doubleheader at Millikin

The Tigers fell to 16-11-1 on the season as they lost both ends of a doubleheader at Millikin

DePauw clinches spot in SCAC Championship with sweep of Sewanee

The Tigers swept a doubleheader from Sewanee by scores of 2-1 in eight innings and 7-0 to improve to 15-8-1 overall and 11-3 in the SCAC. Darcy Vannatta pitched a one-hitter in the first game, while Kristyn Tekulve drove in the game-winning runs with a one-out, two-run double to left center in the bottom of the eighth. In the second game, Mychelle Coon pitched a three-hit shutout in the victory. Tekulve named SCAC Player of the Week

With seven hits in 14 at-bats in a split with Rose-Hulman and a sweep of her team's first two games in Florida, Kristyn Tekulve was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Tekulve totaled seven RBIs and four runs scored and had two triples and a home run on the week. In Wednesday's come-from-behind victory in Game 1 against Rose-Hulman, she tripled home the tying run before scoring the go-ahead run on a single by Keri Shake.

DePauw splits two in Florida to move to 13-7

Darcy Vannatta allowed just one run on four hits in pitching the Tigers to a 6-1 win over Huntingdon, but DePauw managed just one hit in the second game of the day in falling to Cornerstone, 1-0. The Tigers scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to rally from a 4-0 deficit and defeat Rose-Hulman 5-4 in the first game of an SCAC East twinbill. DePauw opens SCAC play with two losses at Rose-Hulman

The Tigers dropped a doubleheader at Rose-Hulman as the Engineers put together one five-run inning in each game. In the opener, DePauw led 3-1 before the hosts scored five in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead for good in an 8-4 win. In the nightcap, the Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, but Rose-Hulman knotted the score in the bottom half of the inning and then added five in the third. Game one box | Game two box
