Keri Shake delivers the eventual game-winning, two-run single in the Tigers' 6-5 win over Rose-Hulman

GREENCASTLE, Ind. - A fifth inning rally in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with SCAC East Division leading Rose-Hulman lifted the Tigers from a 4-0 deficit to a 5-4 win over the Engineers. Rose-Hulman scored three in the top of the seventh of the nightcap to pick up a 5-2 win and earn the split.

The Engineers improved to 13-10 overall and 9-1 in the SCAC,while the Tigers are now 9-5 and 9-3.

Rose-Hulman jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opener as Sarah Bireley and Christine Trossman each had RBI singles. They added another two in the fourth on pitcher Nikki Rosenow's run-scoring triple and Tabatha Doughty's bunt single.

Meanwhile, Rosenow was hurling a perfect game into the fourth before Kristyn Tekulve singled.

The Tigers then rallied with five runs on six hits in the fifth. Andrea Clark picked up a one-out, infield hit and was moved to third by Nicole Johnson's two-out single. Clark scored on a double steal with Johnson advancing to third. Mychelle Coon's single plated Johnson. Jamie Anderson singled to right before Tekulve tripled to tie the score. Keri Shake drove home the eventual game winner on a single to center. 

DePauw starter Darcy Vannatta held on for her fifth win in seven decisions as she struck out 10. Tekulve and Shake each had two hits for DePauw while Rosenow and Doughty had a pair for the Engineers.

In the second game, Rose-Hulman jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third on Trossman's two-run single. The Tigers scored one each in the third and fourth innings on a run-scoring grounder from Tekulve and Rachel Starke's RBI single.

With one out in the seventh Jennifer Clevenger singled and was moved to second on Janae Chaney's ground out. Rosenow singled and moved to second on the throw while Clevenger stopped at third. Doughty then singled just past third to score Clevenger. A DePauw error on the play allowed Rosenow and Doughty to score as well.

Tekulve and Kylie Moord led DePauw with two hits each, while Doughty, Trossman, Bireley and Clevenger each had a pair of hits for the Engineers. 

DePauw travels to Fort Myers, Fla., where they will play 10 games beginning on Sunday.
