BOX SCORE

Conway, Ark. - The Tigers shot nearly 67 percent from the field in the second half and pulled away from host Hendrix in an 81-68 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win.

The victory was the Tigers' eighth in as many games this season and moved their SCAC record to 3-0. The win, the Tigers' 13th straight dating back to last February, is the longest current streak in Division III and DePauw's 8-0 start is the best in school history for a program that began in 1904.

In a fast-paced opening half, the Tigers fell behind by as many as seven points on three occasions before battling back to take the lead late in the half. Hendrix went to the break with a 38-36 lead.

Hendrix built a four-point lead at 48-44 early in the second half before the Tigers scored five straight on a jumper and three-point play from Joe Ringger. The Warriors still held a one-point lead at 50-49, but DePauw put together a 10-2 string to take a 59-52 advantage with 8:58 remaining. During the stretch, Joe Nixon canned two of his six three-pointers.

Hendrix closed the gap back to five before the Tigers used a 12-2 run to take a 15-point lead and put the game away.

Jeremy Bettis equaled a career high with 20 points, while Ringger added 19 and Nixon 18. Bettis grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and Mike Howland dished out seven assists.

Harvell Howard paced Hendrix with 20 points, while Reggie Talley added 14, Pierre Pinkerton scored 13 and Brad Wilson added 11.
