Senior Cara Duckworth was named to the STX/NFHCA Division III All-America Second Team. Duckworth earned third team honors one year ago. This season she led the Tigers with 16 goals and added six assists for a team-high 38 points.
Four Tigers named to Regional All-American teams
DePauw seniors Cindy Davis and Cara Duckworth were named to the STX/NFHCA Great Lakes Regional All-American First Team. Senior Sara Owsley and sophomore Janie Schaadt were named to the second team.
Duckworth named to NFHCA Division III North All-Star Team; Davis named as alternate
Senior Cara Duckworth was one of 17 players chosen to represent the North squad at the 2001 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III North/South All-Star Game. The game is scheduled for November 10 at Springfield (Mass.) College. Senior Cindy Davis was selected as an alternate.
Tigers finish season with 2-1 win over Centre
Cara Duckworth scored twice including the game-winner with three minutes left to lift DePauw to a 2-1 win over Centre in the KIT/NCAC Regional Tournament at Kenyon. The Tigers closed the season with an 11-6 record. Box score
Tigers lose to Denison, 2-1, on strokes
DePauw drop its opening game of the Midwest Invitational by losing 2-1 to Denison on penalty strokes. Cara Duckworth put the Tigers ahead with 17:43 left in regulation before Denison tied the game with just over nine minutes to play. The teams then battled through two scoreless overtimes before Denison outscored the Tigers 2-0 in penalty strokes. Box score

Host Rhodes scored with 8:15 left in the game to take a 1-0 win over DePauw in the semifinals of the KIT tournament. The Tigers outshot Rhodes 18-9 and Shannon Buell recorded 10 saves in the loss. DePauw dropped to 10-5 on the year. Box score
Tigers win first game of KIT tournament
The Tigers blanked Hanover 4-0 in the opening round of the Kentucky-Indiana-Tennessee Tournament to improve to 10-4 on the season. Katie Turrentine, Courtney Driscoll, Janie Schaadt and Cindy Davis each scored once in the win. Box score

The Tigers slipped to 9-3 on the season as they lost at Eastern Mennonite by a 5-2 score. The hosts jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead before Cara Duckworth cut the deficit to 2-1. Katie Turrrentine's goal midway through the second half made it 3-2, but Eastern Mennonite scored twice in the final 10 minutes to seal the win. Box score

Tigers top Lindenwood in overtime
Allie John's overtime goal lifted the Tigers to a 3-2 overtime win at Lindenwood. Cindy Davis and Cara Duckworth scored goals in regulation for the Tigers. Duckworth's score came with one minute left in regulation, but Lindenwood sent the contest to overtime with a score 30 seconds later. The victory was the Tigers' fourth straight. Box score

Cara Duckworth scored three second-half goals to lead the Tigers to a 6-1 win at Bellarmine. Cindy Davis and Mary Murrill each scored in the first half and Kari Koeper added a second-half goal in the Tigers' first win of the season. Box score

Wittenberg's Ciaran Kisling scored with just 1:27 left in regulation to give her team a 1-0 victory over DePauw. The Tigers held a 28-6 advantage in shots and a 15-4 edge in corners. Box Score
Tigers open 2001 season at home on Saturday against Wittenberg
DePauw opens play for the 2001 season on Saturday, September 1, when they entertain Wittenberg University at McKeen Field at 1 p.m. DePauw finished the 2000 season with a 15-5 record. Wittenberg finished 15-4 last year and topped the Tigers twice including by a 1-0 score in two overtime periods at the Midwest Invitational.
