COACHES

Bill Fenlon is in his ninth season with the Tigers with a record of 108-74. In 15 seasons overall as a head coach his teams are 216-143. since coming to DePauw in April of 1992, his Tiger teams have posted a 7-7 record against the Little Giants. TIGER NOTES

Dave Gifford's seven steals against Alfred tied a school record that Eric Bruksch accomplished twice and Brett Hecko once. It last occurred on Jan. 29, 1992, by Bruksch against Anderson ... The 109 points allowed by the Tigers in the first two games is the best defensive effort in the opening pair of contests since the 1991-92 season when they allowed 107 to Washington and Centre ... Including games at the conclusion of last season Joe Nixon has scored in double figures in nine of the last 10 games and averaged 18.1 points and 6.0 rebounds in those 10 ... The Tigers will likely be without junior forward Joe Faires for the rest of the season due to a back injury. Faires, who averaged 12.0 points and 6.4 rebounds last year, has yet to practice this season ... Bob Steiner's streak of 12 straight games with at least one three-pointer made came to an end against Wooster ... Nixon's 20 points and 12 rebounds marked his first collegiate double-double ... Alfred's 30 percent shooting from the field against the Tigers was the best DePauw defensive showing since they allowed Oberlin just 28.8 percent in last year's second game ... The Tigers' 17 steals were the most by DePauw since they had 17 in a 100-58 win over Concordia on Dec. 8, 1997.
