Anderson, Ind. - After nearly running through the loser's bracket last year to finally finish second, the Tigers softball team did it the easy way this year in winning all three games in the winner's bracket to capture the first softball title in school history.

The Tigers, seeded third, opened play with an 8-3 win over second-seed Manchester on Friday. They then topped fifth-seed Hanover 4-0 before taking the title with a 7-2 victory over host Anderson.

DePauw finished the season with a 21-9 record.
