Tigers Fall to Division II Pumas

Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw women's soccer team fell to 9-6-2 on the season as they dropped a 4-2 decision to St. Joseph's at Boswell Field. The Pumas, ranked third in NCAA Division II play, improved to 20-1-1.

The Tigers fell behind at the 39:27 mark on a goal by Tracy Frost, but DePauw responded quickly with a goal off the foot of Kristin Kinney just 1:13 later. Sarah Miller added the assist. St. Joseph's, however, took the lead for good with a score at the 42:12 mark on Mary Reed's goal. Reed scored her second goal just 1:32 into the second half to make it 3-1. Miller cut the lead to 3-2 with a score at the 59:12 mark on Kinney's assist. Carrie Zolper rounded out the scoring for the Pumas with a goal at the 66:48 mark.

Miller's goal tied the DePauw career record of 44 held by Carla Fritz. Her three points on the afternoon gave her 125 for her career which also set the school mark previously held by Fritz.

The Tigers round out the 1996 season with a home match against Thomas More at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
