Blackstock Stadium

Blackstock Stadium is home to DePauw football and DePauw men’s and women’s track and field.

In August, 2013, 87,000-square feet of AstroTurf's GameDay Grass™ 3D Xtreme synthetic turf was installed and named for the long-time DePauw football coach, Nick Mourouzis. The 2013 renovations also included a new 8-lane Beynon 2000 all-weather track with inside steeplechase pit, 4 long jump/triple jump runways, 2 pole vault runways, and high jump venue.

The stadium includes a large all-brick grand stand on the west side seating 2,060. A press box, which seats 40, stands atop of the stands on the west side. Locker rooms for DePauw teams, as well as visitors, are located below the stadium, as is a fully equipped training room.

Originally built in 1941, Blackstock Stadium underwent massive improvements in 1997, which improved and add locker room spaces as well as athletic training space.

In 1923, the Blackstock family contributed $25,000 for the purchase and improvement of the land for the stadium. Four-fifths of the original building cost of $100,000 came from Mrs. Ira Blackstock in memory of her husband, an 1886 alumnus of DePauw. Mrs. Blackstock was the first woman trustee to serve on DePauw’s Board of Trustees.
