Greencastle, Ind. - Women's soccer marked their senior day Saturday with a 3-0 shutout against Wheaton (Ill.).
In honor of senior day the team celebrated the careers of
Sadie Gibson,
Sophia Grueninger,
Jayla Logan,
Ashleigh Rupprecht,
Macy Miller,
Ellie Mahan,
Liv Ehlers,
Macy Happe,
Elle Lewis, and
KJ Ely.
Mahan opened up shooting for the game with a shot on goal at 13:35. Six minutes after being subbed in,
Katharine Lacy landed the Tigers' first goal of the game off a pass from Logan. Lacy dribbled the ball into the penalty box and shot in the bottom right corner of the net.
After ten minutes of playing time,
Lily Ault recorded her first goal of the season at 35:32. The Tigers capitalized on a throw in to scramble the ball through defenders. Lacy passed the ball across the net to Ault for her to chip the ball into the upper left corner of the net.
The Tigers held a 2-0 lead at halftime when the storm moved in and put the game through a one-hour weather delay. DePauw edged Wheaton in shots 6-0 in the first half.
Upon returning to the pitch and warming up, the Tigers went to work offensively.
Emmy Streeter scored her first goal of the season to give the Tigers an insurance goal at 64:27. After battling for footing, Streeter advanced on the goal from the far right side. She shot from the far right end of the scoring box, evading two defenders and outwitting the goalie.
Saturday's match also marked a special occasion for DePauw Women's Soccer, as the Tigers celebrated Senior Day and recognized the incredible contributions of eleven seniors who have left a lasting impact on the program.

Sadie Gibson (Clarksville, TN – Biochemistry & Global Health) was escorted by her mom Jill and brother Theo. Sadie plans to attend medical school after graduation. Her favorite memory came from traveling with her teammates to Spain and Portugal, where she explored new cultures and competed abroad. She encourages future Tigers to take advantage of every opportunity DePauw offers, and credits Professors Crary and Gurnon for inspiring her growth both in and out of the classroom.

Sophia Grueninger (Indianapolis, IN – Global Health) was joined by her mother Erika and sister Anna. She plans to pursue PA school after graduation and recalls competing in the NCAA tournament as her favorite memory. Sophia reminds future Tigers to hold onto the spark that first made them fall in love with the game and credits her family for being her biggest supporters throughout her journey.

Olivia Ehlers (Grayslake, IL – History & Philosophy) was escorted by her parents Anita and Michael. She plans to attend law school, and her favorite memory is competing in the NCAA tournament against eventual national champions WashU. Olivia emphasizes the importance of balance, encouraging future Tigers to care for their well-being, and notes the impact Professor Gellman had on her personal and academic growth.

Macy Miller (Indianapolis, IN – Education Studies) celebrated with her parents David and Andrea, along with her brother Zach. After graduation, she will continue her studies at Queens University Belfast, pursuing Educational Theory. She cherishes the bus trips with her teammates most and encourages others to "buy in" and enjoy the journey. Macy values the friendships and mentorships that shaped her into a stronger leader and thinker.

Elle Lewis (Indianapolis, IN – Biology) was escorted by her parents Erin and Cory, along with siblings Libby, Henry, and Ollie. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in health and fondly remembers winning conference and competing in the NCAA Tournament. Her advice is to surround yourself with people who push you to grow, while crediting her family and close friends for their constant support.

Ashleigh Rupprecht (Lake Bluff, IL – Communications) was joined by her parents Sandi and Bryan. Ashleigh plans to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry, helping patients. She treasures the friendships she built with teammates, advising future Tigers to make the most of their time at DePauw. She highlighted Dr. Gropp, Coach Cristin Allen, and her teammates as her biggest influences.

Jayla Logan (Arcadia, IN – Global Health & Philosophy) was escorted by her parents Tom and Lisa. She plans a career in healthcare sales and marketing, and her favorite memory is representing D3 Soccer in Brazil. Jayla's advice is to try everything, then focus on what matters most, and she credits her closest friends for being her strongest supporters.

Ellie Mahan (Dublin, OH – Kinesiology) walked with her parents Jeff and Colleen, and her sister Bryn. She plans to attend Physical Therapy School. Her favorite memory was competing in the NCAA Tournament, and she encourages future Tigers to embrace the little moments and step outside their comfort zones.

Macy Happe (Evansville, IN – Biochemistry) was escorted by her parents Darren and Ginger. She plans to attend medical school after graduation. Macy's favorite memory is the NCAC Championship game, and she advises future Tigers to embrace every opportunity. She credits her friends for their unwavering encouragement.

KJ Ely (Columbus, IN – Film & Media Arts, Communications) celebrated with her parents Tanya and Jason, along with her brother Boston. KJ hopes to pursue a career in videography. Her favorite memories come from the locker room before home games, and she advises future Tigers to take things one day at a time. She is most thankful for the support of her teammates, especially her fellow seniors.
Together, this senior class has built a legacy of leadership, resilience, and passion for the game. Their contributions to DePauw Women's Soccer will be remembered long after they leave the field.
The Tigers will return to action on Tuesday, September 16th when they host Hanover at Reavis starting at 7 p.m.
