Darden and Hyatt Join DePauw Football Staff

Greencastle, Ind. - Dante Darden and Dylan Hyatt have joined the DePauw football staff as assistant football coaches.

Darden, a 2022 Franklin College graduate, has served as an assistant coach at his alma mater since his graduation. During the 2022 season he was safeties coach and film coordinator before moving on to defensive line coach and strength & conditioning for the last wo seasons. A team captain as a senior for the Grizzlies, Darden was a two-time first team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference defensive end and earned four letters.

Hyatt graduated from DePauw in 2021 and served as a graduate assistant at Anderson University before moving on to Kenyon as a defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator. He then was the defensive backs coach and equipment coordinator at Indiana Wesleyan before moving on to Western Michigan where he was a defensive analyst starting in July 2024. Hyatt was a second team all-North Coast Athletic Conference selection in 2019 and first team in 2021.

The Tigers finished the 2024 season with an 11-1 record, a fourth straight North Coast Athletic Conference title and a fourth consecutive NCAA Division III postseason appearance. DePauw opened the postseason with a 45-20 win over Maryville (Tenn.) in the second round before falling in the third round to Johns Hopkins by a 14-9 score. DePauw opens the 2025 season on Saturday, Sept.6, with a 7 p.m. game at Rose-Hulman.
