Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw hit a season-best .333 including over .400 in the first and third sets and blanked Wooster 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-14) in a North Coast Athletic Conference match. The Tigers improved to 10-5 overall and 2-0 in the NCAC, while the Fighting Scots dropped to 11-8 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
The teams battled through a tight first set with DePauw holding a 16-15 lead before the Tigers scored the final nine points for the win. DePauw won the first four points of the second set and never trailed the rest of the match.
The Tigers hit .412 in the first set and .438 in the third and committed just one attack error in the final set. DePauw held a 48-28 advantage in kills as Suzanne Peters and Morgan Stearley each had 13. Haley Bitzer hit .625 with 10 kills and no errors in 16 attack attempts.
Keegan Kollias assisted on 35 of the Tigers' kills, while Kaley Keating led with three of DePauw's five service aces. Peters recorded 15 digs with Kollias and Meaghan Etling each totaling two block assists.
Taylor Mathews and Ksenia Klue each had seven kills for Wooster with Mathews assisting 17 times and leading with four aces and 13 digs.
DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, October 4, for a 7 p.m. match at Franklin.
