Tigers Off to 4-0 Start after Winning Two; Peters Earns All-Tournament Honors

Bluffton, Ohio - DePauw moved to 4-0 on the season after sweeping two more matches at Bluffton University's Sommer Spiketacular. The Tigers topped Kalamazoo 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-17) and Heidelberg 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 27-25, 12-25, 15-9).

In the Kalamazoo match, Morgan Stearley led the Tigers with 11 kills and a .429 attack percentage. Keegan Kollias assisted on 31 of DePauw's 36 kills and had a team-high 12 digs, while Kaylee Nichols paced the squad with five aces and Kaley Keating added four. Haley Bitzer had a team-high four blocks including a pair of solos.

DePauw led in kills, 36-24, and outhit the Hornets, .266-.126. The Tigers also had 12 service aces.

With the win over Heidelberg, DePauw notched its second five-set victory of the season. Stearley had 21 kills with Suzanne Peters and Liv Hartman each chipping in 15. Stearley hit .528 for the match. 

Kollias handed out 52 assists with Keating and Nichols each totaling two aces. Keating had a team-high 21 digs with Bitzer finishing with seven blocks including five solos.

DePauw held a 60-54 edge in kills and outhit Heidelberg .225-.204. 

Peters earned a spot on the all-tournament team after sharing the team lead with 57 kills and leading with 63.5 points for the weekend.

The Tigers return to action on September 8-9 at Illinois Wesleyan's Barker Chevrolet Classic I.
