Springfield, Ohio - DePauw's streak of five straight wins came to an end as the Tigers dropped a 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-21) decision at third-ranked Wittenberg. The Tigers dropped to 15-4 overall and 4-1 in the NCAC, while Wittenberg improved to 12-3 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
DePauw came our strong, grabbing a 10-4 lead. The Tigers still led 24-20, but the hosts fought off four set points and won six straight points to take the set, 26-24.
Wittenberg opened the second set with a 3-0 lead. DePauw was still within 14-12 before Wittenberg scored eight straight to take control. DePauw jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the final set before Wittenberg went on a 7-1 run to gain the lead for good.
Wittenberg outhit the Tigers, .205-.074 with 47 kills to the guests' 30.
Gabi Allread led DePauw with 10 kills and a .320 attack percentage with Keegan Kollias assisting 21 times. Rachael Lenderman led the hosts with 15 digs, while Elisabeth Wilson had one block solo and four assists.
Camila Quonones paced Wittenberg with 13 kills with Karen Wildemann assisting on 34 of her teams' kills. Madison Manger led with 24 digs, while Aubrey Cox had two block solos and four block assists.
DePauw retuns to action on Saturday, October 15, when it host Kenyon at 11 a.m. and Alma at 3 p.m.
