Springfield, Ohio - For the third time in the last four seasons, DePauw advanced to the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament finals and for the third time the Tigers finished second after dropping a 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-16, 25-14) decision to fifth-ranked Wittenberg.
Earlier in the day, the Tigers avenged an earlier loss to Ohio Wesleyan by taking a 3-2 (26-24, 22-25, 25-22, 15-25, 15-7) semifinal win over the Battling Bishops.
Against Ohio Wesleyan, Haley Bitzer led the way with 12 kills, while Nicole Burge and Elisabeth Wilson each added 10. Faith Rolwes assisted on 48 of DePauw's 60 kills. Keely McGrath led with three aces and 32 digs, while Wilson totaled eight blocks.
Brianna La Croix recorded 20 kills for Ohio Wesleyan, while Shannon Schlater assisted on 51 of their 57 kills. Nina Carmichael-Tanaka had three aces and 36 digs with Meigan Day chippingi n three blocks.
In the Wittenberg match, DePauw was led by Wilson's 11 kills and five blocks, while Rolwes assisted on 30 of DePauw's 44 kills. Rolwes added two aces and McGrath led with 23 digs.
Emily Kahlig totaled 13 kills for Wittenberg with Melissa Emming adding 12. Karen Wildermann assisted on 20 of Wittenberg's 59 kills and had two aces. Kristina Fultz paced the squad with 25 digs and Kara Seidenstricker led wtih five blocks.
Rolwes and McGrath earned spots on the all-tournament team for the 19-11 Tigers.
