DePauw Splits Saturday Matches Against Nationally-Ranked Squads

Bloomington, Ill. - DePauw faced a pair of top-20 teams today in matches played at Illinois Wesleyan and came away with a split. The Tigers opened with a 3-2 (15-25, 25-23, 25-18, 21-25, 15-11) win over 20th-ranked Chicago before 14th-ranked Carthage blanked DePauw 3-0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-12).

Against Chicago, Lauren Falotico and Suzanne Peters each tallied 17 kills, while Faith Rolwes assisted on 49 of DePauw's 68 kills. Brekiesha Weszely notched two of the Tigers' four service aces, while Keely McGrath led with 17 digs and Rachael Lenderman followed with 16. Rolwes, Taylor Luft, Haley Bitzer and Elisabeth Wilson each had two blocks. DePauw hit .238 in the win.

Falotico and Peters each had six kills in the loss to Carthage and Rolwes assisted on 12 of DePauw's 25 kills. McGrath and Lenderman each had 10 digs and Bitzer totaled two blocks.

With her weekend performances, Rolwes earned a spot on the all-tournament team.

DePauw, seeded third, opens North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament play on Friday, November 6, when it faces Kenyon at 4 p.m.
